Window Fashions magazine just released the results of its latest survey of designers, fabricators, and retailers that show demand for shutters is increasing dramatically!

• 77% of manufacturers, fabricators, and retailers say sales are up, and two-thirds expect shutter sales to rise even more next year
• 40% of this same group believes the increase in sales is due to rising consumer awareness of the advantages of choosing plantation shutters, and their subsequent increase in popularity
• almost 90% of designers said that they had chosen shutters for a project, with 30% using shutters on at least ten projects each year
• 92% of designers predict that their colleagues in the industry will specify shutters at least as many times as last year, and 37.6% said maybe even more often
• 62% of designers said they planned to recommend shutters to their own clients even more next year

When asked about how they incorporate shutters into their designs, designers said

• they prefer wood over alternative materials
• they consider the suitability of the room for shutters as the most important factor when deciding whether to use shutters, followed by budgetary concerns
