Alderwood is grown and milled in northeast Nebraska, and shutters are crafted one at a time to your exact specifications right here in Omaha. The other guys manufacture all over the country or world. Alderwood maintains its color more consistently, and is kiln-dried to 6% moisture content, which dramatically reduces the chance of bowing or warping.

9. Warranty

We guarantee our wood shutters for ten years on materials and workmanship, and five years on paint and finishes. We guarantee our Surfsider PVC Shutters for 25 years! Our warranties are twice as long as other manufacturers’.

8. Construction

We use mortise and tenon joint construction, used in only the finest furniture. Cheaply made joints, like you find in bargain kitchen chairs, use dowel and biscuit joints. We guarantee top-of-the-line construction on our shutters.

6. Finish

We apply four coats of paint, and three coats of lacquer to stained shutters, thus ensuring a longer lasting and more polished finish than any of our competitors. Our paints and lacquers contain UV filters to dramatically reduce sun damage and discoloration. Don’t forget that we can create or match any color of stain or paint.

5. Variety

We provide several types of shutters to match all budgets. Our premier product is our Capri Shutters, crafted from sturdy Alderwood. Our next level is the Islander Wood Shutters, made of Poplar wood. If clients need shutters in high-moisture areas, we suggest our Surfsider Shutters, which come with a 25-year warranty.

4. Mechanics

Rather than a single nylon pin, we’ve use the innovative Duraglide louver pin that makes adjusting your shutters almost effortless. Not only do they never need tightening because their tension will always keep the shutters set just like you want them, they’re hidden in the construction of each shutter, so they don’t stand out.

3. Customization

We the challenge of fitting shutters into unusual applications or shapes. We fabricate a full line of specialty shapes including sunbursts, eyebrows, circles, octagons, arches, angles, French doors, sliding doors and bi-fold doors. If we don’t have it, we’ll create it!

You won’t wait 8-12 weeks for your handcrafted shutters. We guarantee to deliver your shutters in four to six weeks or less, even customized designs.
